The University of Hamburg has optimized its website for barrier-free access and uses standardized CSS (style sheets). If your browser does not display this correctly, it unfortunately does not support the current normal web standards.
Web standards have been developed by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to ensure that browser software is based on uniform standards. Some older browsers, such as Netscape Navigator 4, unfortunately do not comply to these standards. The consequence is that many websites cannot be accessed by all and some sites only function in certain browsers.
We recommend the use of recent releases of the Mozilla-family (Mozilla, Netscape (from 7.1), Firefox, Opera), as the Microsoft Internet Explorer has problems with the page display in too small browser windows.
If the University of Hamburg website is not diplayed correctly on your screen, you might consider bringing your browser software up-to-date.
