Admission for individuals with professional experience

You may study at Universität Hamburg without the Abitur (German high school certificate) or a foreign equivalent. If your job and your professional qualifications demonstrate that you are capable of pursuing academic study, you may sit examinations for entry into specific degree programs. For those with a vocational qualification such as the Meister, a consultation session is sufficient to ascertain whether or not admission requirements have been met.
