The Junior Studies Program at Universität Hamburg provides interested and talented high school students an opportunity to begin university studies while they are still in school and to attend introductory seminars and lectures. Almost all subjects are offered with the exception of medicine, pharmacology, biology and Chinese. Most subjects can only be commenced in winter semester.
Participants can also transfer credits for work accomplished in the Junior Studies program to subsequent university programs. Since junior students do not have student status, they do not need to pay administrative costs or tuition fees. They cannot, however, be granted a semester-based transportation pass. Hamburg schools can issue a reduced »blue ticket« for public transportation.
You can access a Videocast and a Podcast of the information session, »Studying with an Abitur - in the Junior Studies program«, which took place on 24 June 2009 as an orientation event.
