Help and orientation for psychologically ill students (HOPES)

Project's target group

»HOPES« targets students who need or would like practical help fulfilling academic requirements following a serious psychological crisis, often involving in-patient or partial in-patient treatment. This service is a supplement to academic advising services as well as to out-patient psychotherapeutic or psychiatric care.

Service spectrum

Semester-long course

This course has a maximum of 10 to 12 participants and helps you to organize your studies and plan your semester. The course provides an opportunity to meet other students, to exchange ideas and to discover possibilities, paths and solutions.

Individual advising

  • Individual advising on how to realistically plan your semester and organize daily life as a student as well as exam preparation
  • Advising in close cooperation with respective services on financial and organizational problems, compensation with regard to academic and exam requirements, questions about career prospects and the search for alternatives to academic study
  • Providing contact details for respective services
