Michelle White, born in 1972, studied social affairs at the University of Duisburg-Essen and presently Master Mediation at the Distance University of Hagen. She has several years of experience in crisis intervention and conflict management. Michelle White heads the main office of a professional association and was responsible for advising people in difficult professional and personal situations as well as for various business activities for a Hamburg educational institution. As adjunct professor at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, she teaches and advises students in basic business skills and provides career counselling. As a free-lance speaker, she has given seminars on founding a business, choosing a career and professional aptitude throughout Germany.

 Rainer Müller-Broders, Jahrgang 1949, Studium der Dipl.-Päd. an der Hamburger Universität. Von 1979 bis 1987 Suchttherapeut in sozialtherapeutischen Wohngemeinschaften von Jugend hilft Jugend e.V. (Hamburger Suchthilfeeinrichtung mit ambulanten und stationären Therapieangeboten für Drogenabhängige). Danach Aufbau einer stadtteilbezogenen Beratungsstelle für drogen- und alkoholabhängige Bewohner des Hamburger Stadtteils Wilhelmsburg; Arbeit als therapeutischer Berater sowie mit Insassen der Haftanstalten Hahnöversand und Fuhlsbüttel. Nebenberuflich Präventionsveranstaltungen für Ausbilder und Auszubildende von Hamburger Großbetrieben (Hamburger Gas- und Wasserwerke). Seit 1993 Suchtbeauftragter im Öffentlichen Dienst der FHH; zunächst bei der Behörde für Wissenschaft und Forschung, jetzt für die Universität Hamburg und die Hamburger Hochschulen.

We provide counselling for employees of Universität Hamburg and other Hamburg universities if:

• you are involved in any kind of conflict in the workplace
• you find yourself in a difficult personal situation
• you are having problems with addictive substances
• you have social problems
• you need information about helping or intervening as a colleague or superior
  
• you need information on topics such as psychological disorders, dependency, dealing with crises in individual counselling sessions or in the context of larger groups/courses
• you need to be referred to another internal or external counselling office.
  

Cooperation (ÖA and networking) with subject-specific committees and other counsellors/counselling offices are important to us.
