Light induced dynamic and control of correlated quantum systems
This SFB is devoted to the fields of atom-, molecular- and quantum physics as well as the solid state- and x-ray physics. The research takes place in 18 closely interlinked research projects of the theoretical and experimental physics. Internationally leading research groups of institutes of the University of Hamburg, the Helmholtz center DESY, the Max-Planck research group of structurally dynamics and the European XFEL GmbH are part of the collaborative research unit. The projects are divided in three groups: ultrafast dynamics and correlations in small quantum systems represents one end of the research spectrum, the control and study of strongly correlated systems and quantum phases in solid states the other. A link between these groups is built by the third pillar: the study of correlations and quantum phases in quantum gases and other model systems.
