Appointments for Professorships

In July 2009, the University of Hamburg agreed upon its current Structure and Development Plan (STEP), which defines the University's direction and concrete organizational steps through 2012. It reveals that the presidium and deans have intensified their cooperation and efforts to gain the best scientists for the Universität Hamburg.

Applicants should be actively involved in research on an international level. It is expected that applicants will further demonstrate a strong international publication record and experience in the successful acquisition of external research funding. The University places great value on the quality of teaching. We therefore request that applicants provide details of their teaching experience and of their future teaching objectives.

The University aims to increase the number of women in research and teaching and specifically encourages women to apply. Qualified female applicants will receive preference in accordance with the Hamburg Higher Education Law.

Requirements:
Scientific and scholarly qualifications as well as further requirements according to § 15 of the Hamburg Higher Education Law.

Severely disabled, qualified applicants will receive preference over non-disabled applicants with the same qualifications.
