technical and administrative appointments

The Hamburg Senate has resolved to introduce a regulated appointment procedure with efficacy from 01.09.2011 until 31.12.2015.

Some positions may only be filled with applicants who are already employed by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. External applications will not be admitted for job advertisements accompanied by the following paragraph:

The job advertisement is directed exclusively at employees who are already employed by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg either under a fixed-term or tenure contract. From 01.09.2011 those employees seconded or assigned to the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg are considered internal applicants for as long as they continue to carry out tasks for the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. External disabled persons and those with the same standing according to the SGB IX are also eligible to apply for positions within the internal employment market.

Applications for the following positions are requested in writing and should include a complete curriculum vitae (references to personnel files are deemed inadequate) and copies of all certificates and employer references. Please cite the job reference number (Kennziffer) in your application. Applications must be received by the deadline for applications specified in the job advertisement and should be sent to:

Universität Hamburg
Organisation & Personalentwicklung - 631.6 -
Moorweidenstr. 18
20148 Hamburg

Each job reference number requires a separate application, including a curriculum vitae. We only accept applications submitted by post, in person or sent to the email address stated in the job advertisement.

The Universität Hamburg aims to increase the number of women on staff, in particular in technical areas and in senior management positions, and specifically encourages qualified women to apply.

Severely disabled, qualified applicants will receive preference over non-disabled applicants with the same qualifications unless the position advertisement specifically states that the workplace in question is not suitable for the employment of severely disabled persons. Public service employers are legally obliged to invite severely disabled applicants to interview according to § 82 SGB IX. An interview may only be deemed unnecessary if an applicant is clearly unable to demonstrate the required qualifications.

Please note that  the Universität Hamburg is unable to compensate external and overseas applicants for travel, removal or relocation expenses they incur.
